Billing and credits
backcrew is prepaid: you buy credits and agents spend them on what they actually use. There are no plans or seats, and credits never expire. 1,000 credits = $1.
Buy credits
Section titled “Buy credits”Owners and people with the Billing role buy credits on the Billing page. Payment is by card through Stripe; the credits arrive as soon as the payment clears, with a receipt.
See what you spend
Section titled “See what you spend”The Billing page shows:
- your balance, in credits and dollars,
- about how many conversations it has left: the balance divided by what an answer has cost your workspace on average over the last 30 days, including quality checks and the Builder assistant. It appears once your agents have given at least 10 answers in that time.
- spending this month and against your monthly limit,
- usage by agent, by model and by day,
- every ledger entry - each charge says what it was for, e.g. Invoke via the API - 1,240 in / 310 out tokens.
Running low
Section titled “Running low”- Below the low-balance line, owners and Billing get an alert (in the app and by email).
- At zero, agents stop answering until credits are added. Visitors on your widget or Telegram see a polite “not available right now”; your team on Slack is told the agent can’t answer until whoever manages it sorts this out.
- A monthly limit, if your workspace has one, stops spending for the rest of the month once reached.
Every credit amount in the app, from the dashboard to the ledger and each test answer, shows its dollar value next to it.
What each thing costs is in Credits.
